1) Orchidville

Lots of nice orchids down here.

2) Crocodile Farm

Bunch of lazy buayas...
Get to know also that crocodiles have excellant hearing and eyesight (does that explains why "buayas" are called buayas?). When they are underwater they have a membrane that closes over their eyes which acts like goggles. Cool.

Uncle why you sleep with your mouth open one. Not tired ah...

Crocodiles usually don't chew up their food much. Instead they swallow their prey in one whole sitting (sounds like snakes) and spend the whole day digesting their food. Kinda explains why they just lay motionless there for a long time.

First time I saw a turtle with nostrils...

3) Kent Ridge Canopy Walk

Really nice and quiet place to take a scroll, especially in the morning.

The view would have been perfect without all these refineries and shipyards.

And finally...

5) Fireworks viewing!
Went to harbourfront Noodle Hut for dinner. But the food there sucks. So my advice is dun ever try it. :P

The only decent pic I managed to capture with my camera. The 20 mins of fireworks tonight is by the award-winning Italy and I must say that they are really spectacular and impressive, especially if seen upclose at Sheares Bridge. The BEST fireworks display I have seen so far. *thumbs up*

啊...the flowers on the tree below my window has blossom again. Think they blossom twice a year, and last time was during Feb Chinese New Year :)

My first attempt at creating a short comic strip last year. The idea pop into my head one fine day and I thought, why not try it? It may look a bit childish but hey, I hope it can bring back some childhood memories and smiles for people who see it :)

I'm still pretty touched whenever I looked at these 5 letters . Notice they are being sewed on one? :)

Mizuno Fun Run 10km

No kick...looking forward to the Realrun in August. (不知死活的家伙。哈哈。)

After the run we went market to makan. Man this is going to be the longest time I waited for a plate of 菜头糕. Almost 30 mins! Now I know why the queue is so long...not necessary becos the food is nice. Its becos everyone is waiting! I can't actually see what Uncle is doing behind...he seemed to be working real hard. But everytime after 5 mins he managed to churn out only 2 small plates. 唉，Uncle 拜托你请多一点人啦! 为了等你的菜头糕我差点变成了石头糕了!

1st destination of the day: Kim Yan Agrotech (Wheatgrass Farm)

Nothing really interesting...just a lot of products made from wheatgrass. Tried the wheatgrass cereal...yucks. The smell reminds me of someone who just puked. The wheatgrass jelly tasted like...normal jelly lor.

Now here's a very interesting cactus which looks like a rabbit :)

Next stop: Kok Fah Technology Farm (Aloe Vera Farm)

The main attraction here are these:
The Arpaima Gigas! Sounds huge?

In fact they are the world's largest fresh water fish!

Also featuring...

The nine tail fox! Had a hard time taking a proper photo of it since its always on the move.

(actually I anyhow sian one...dunno the actual name also haha)

Little mao mao still the best...muck muck!

Interesting...they use the snail's shell to hold the plant. Wonder what happened to the snails...

Old Changi Hospital / Old Commando Barracks

The British Colony Flag looked really new, in stark contrast to the current run down situation of the hospital. Inside is super dark. Regret bringing my KK headlight. Should have brought those big enough to pia jui one. So about 20 of us went in and walk walk see see. The elevators have stopped working long ago, but their presence brought a modern look to the old place. The hospital is practically vacant, and the white walls created a really spooky atmosphere. We were searching for the walkway which will take us to the old Commando Barracks but kinda lost our way and had to reverse quite a number of times, due to unexpected dead ends in the building. In the end we gave up and took the outside route to the barracks instead.

The interior of the Commando Barracks has been newly painted recently (probably to serve as a new place to showcase artists' works), but the hallways are narrow (wide enought for 1~2 person only) and had more rooms as compared to the hospital. When we went up to the second level, somehow I had the "luxury" of becoming the last man in the group and it kinda give me the creeps, because there's no one behind you and when you looked back its total darkness (not to mention I lacked a powerful torch). After missing the exit on our way out we reversed and I became the front man instead(whew) and we joined up with some of the girls waiting outside (apparently they had enough keke).

After that we dropped off at dbg mrt and went home zzzzz.

Man what a day.

Went down to Velvet Underground for the Asian Diver's Party yesterday night. Had a good time eating and drinking with friends and watching people kena sabo on stage. Wahaha. There are also a few rounds of lucky draws where I had this feeling that I might be able to win something back tonight...

I was going for some food and not paying attention to the draw when Eugene suddenly slapped me hard on the back, "Number 0208! Its you!"

Wow. So I'm really lucky tonight. :) I quickly digged into my pocket to make sure the ticket was there. At this time the big fat 98.7FM DJ (sorry man didn't get your name) was looking around for the winner so I hurried up the stage from behind with the ticket till he spotted me. They let me choose from a set of keys so I just anyhow picked the middle one which happens to be number 9.

While I was opening the chest 9 I heard something like" could he have won it? the blah blah blah by Expedition fleet" Ok its suppose to be the first prize for this round. When I opened the chest there's a piece of papaer inside the chest and I saw something like "XXX expedition fleet"! Wow I better let Carol (the host of the event) read it...so I pass the piece of paper to her, where she dramatically said "Oh my god..." Then one of the guys laughed "(won) a set of batteries!" (:P sorry to u man). I just won the first prize for this round! 6D/5N Live Aboard Package for 1 person (Tubattaha Reef) worth USD 1,300 by Expedition Fleet Inc. Yaya...I'm only paying attention to the USD 1,300 :)

So after going back to my friends *clap* *clap* and settling down from the excitement I began to ponder about my prize. I wouldn't want to go on this trip alone, somemore living on board is not really for me...that means I have to sell it away...else I would like win nothing! Aahhhhh...why can't they just give me USD 1,300 to make things simpler...or just let me win the $700 scuba watch or JVC Camcorder...or at least a 2 person trip lar...

Anyway thanks to Wanzi for informing me of this event, and Eugene for letting me register first at the booth...else I will be number 0209 and he will be 0208 instead! Wahaha!

Ok now must find a way to sell it. Better chance online I guess.

In this age, He-Man dun use swords and axes anymore (its a civilised world afterall).

To battle with machines he uses these:

1. Toolkit which includes + and - screw drivers and a spanner...use to have a soldering iron too. Think of them as surgeon knifes...
2. Ahh my tweezer...been with me since day one. A must have for delicate operations.
3. Super cool allen key set. Reminds me of the transformation device ultraman Tiga used. :)
4. Multimeter...doc's hearing device.
